Versatile, reliable, and affordable LiDAR technology supports road safety and comfort
High-fidelity sensor simulation is required to develop and test autonomous vehicles thoroughly. Measurement data from physical sensors must be compared against simulated data to validate physics-based sensor models using a three-step approach.
The first step is to perform precise tests under highly controlled conditions. This step aims to understand and ensure control of any variable that has an impact on sensor behavior.
The second step is to perform tests in a semi-controlled environment, such as a public road. The results from this step will ensure confidence that the physics-based LiDAR simulation is accurate enough to be used under normal driving conditions.
The third and final step is to perform tests in an uncontrolled environment to obtain the final performance assessment under normal driving conditions.
The importance of highly accurate sensor simulation models
This webinar will highlight the leading simulation platform for testing and developing autonomous vehicle functionality, Simcenter Prescan. Additionally, this webinar will discuss our approach to verification and validation of automotive sensor simulation, as well as:
- How to ensure the quality and correctness of high-fidelity sensor models
- How to manage the verification during the development of the simulation
- How to implement the ISO26262 certification of the software
- How to efficiently deploy the verification and validation of the simulation through dedicated projects
