Artificial intelligence systems pose a particular challenge with respect to cybersecurity, owing to their greatly expanded “attack surface” - i.e., the number of all possible attack vectors where a threat actor can access and extract or compromise data. Not surprisingly, with a greatly expanded attack surface comes greatly expanded legal exposure. In this presentation, which is designed specifically for current and aspiring corporate directors and CISOs, a panel of AI/InfoSec attorneys will examine the new cybersecurity mandates stemming from U.S. and multinational Al laws and the needed responses. Objectives include: • Providing actionable information, task lists, and discussion points that existing and aspiring directors can immediately take into the board room; • Offering CISOs an understanding of current AI laws and their legal implications, such as OMB M-25-21 and the EU Artificial Intelligence Act, and • Obtaining critical insights from leading on-point publications and frameworks from OWASP, ISO/IEC, and NIST.
