DESCRIPTION:Use physics-based simulation for optimal designs\n \nIn the energy and process industries, physics-based digital twins are gaining prominence in virtual equipment development. Using simulation in the digital twin, engineers can determine optimal equipment designs before a unit goes into production.\n \nUntil recently, digital twins could not be deployed at the operational level, as they could be too complex or slow to react to the speed of operation. This is changing quickly. In our March 1 webinar, you’ll learn how physics-based simulation lowers the barrier for executing the digital twins on the production floor.\n \nUsing simulation to understand complexity\n \nEnergy and chemical industry processes are complex. Using simulation to understand complexity creates opportunities to deploy the insights to your businesses’ advantage. Physics-based simulation models, at varied length scales, allow engineers to capture this complexity and use it to explore design and operating spaces to find optimum conditions.\n \nDeploying insights from simulation into operations\n \nDeploy simulation insights into operations using executable digital twins. With digital twins, your engineers can determine the ideal design before the unit goes into production. Operations engineers can react to real-time product disturbances based on the deep insights gained during R&D.\n \nKey requirements for physics-based simulation\n \nThe need to investigate problems across all lengths and time scales is one of the essential requirements for physics-based simulation. An engineering team may need a fit-for-purpose tool for a given scale. If multiple tools are required, integration must be seamless while offering a simple-to-use workflow.\n \nPonentes:\n \nDr. Ravi Aglave:Director, Process Industries, Siemens Digital Industries Software (DISW)\n \nDr. Ravindra Aglave has over 20 years of research and engineering experience in academia and industry in the area of reactor design, scale-up and troubleshooting. Dr. Aglave leads the energy and process industry sector in the Simulation & Test Solutions business unit at Siemens. He is responsible for bringing new modeling and physics knowledge in to CFD simulation code that can be deployed in the industry.\n \n \nJohn Lusty:Global Industry Marketing Lead, Energy & Utilities, Siemens Digital Industries Software (DISW)\n \nJohn is the Energy & Utilities industry marketing lead for Siemens DISW. He began his career with Dow Chemical and later Nalco Chemical in technical sales as a steam and cooling water chemistry specialist in energy and chemical plants. In 2000, John moved to the software industry, holding management positions at Allegro Development and Bentley Systems. In 2010, John joined Siemens with roles in Enterprise Sales, Industry Solutions, and now Global Industry Marketing. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Earth Science from the University of Guelph.\n
