DESCRIPTION:Aalborg University and Siemens invite you to the second webinar on Thermal characterization of power semiconductor devices.\n \nBenefiting from a complete thermal characterization to ensure consistency between the digital model and the final device\nPower electronics are being adopted at a rapid pace across various market segments, with more demand for miniaturised and integrated complex solutions, but with these market pressures, how can such power devices remain reliable and provide adequate performance. Despite the vast knowledge applied during the design phase, the market is showing its limitation in terms of testing standards and know-how, in particular when Wide Band Gap devices are the subject.\n \nDuring this webinar, Dr. Yi Zhang from Aalborg University will show how they’ve used Siemens’ Simcenter technology to gather valuable thermal insights in favour of their extensive research in the power electronics field while supporting industry clients in the adoption of new technologies. Antonio Caruso from Siemens will provide an overview of how the latest Simcenter technology help bridge the gap between the design phase and production.\n \nPresenters:\nMike Fletcher - Event Host:EMEA Portfolio Manager, Siemens Digital Industries Software (UK)\n \nYi Zhang:Dr. Yi Zhang:Postdoctoral Fellow, Aalborg University (DK)\n \nDr. Yi Zhang obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China, in 2014 and 2016, respectively. He completed his Ph.D. degree in power electronics at Aalborg University, Denmark. He is currently a DFF International Postdoc with both Aalborg University, Denmark and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. He was a visiting scholar with Georgia Institute of Technology, USA from Nov. 2018 to Feb. 2019, and with National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu, in 2013. His research interests include reliability of power semiconductor devices and power converters, Multiphysics modelling, and optimizations. Dr. Zhang received the First Place Prize Paper Award for 2020 in the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics in 2021, and the IEEE Power Electronics Society Ph.D. Thesis Talk Award Winner in 2020. He received a research grant from the Danish Council for Independent Research (DFF-International Postdoc) in 2021.\n \nAntonio Caruso:Business Developer Manager, Siemens Digital Industry Software (IT)\n \nAntonio obtained his Master’s degree in electrical engineering from Poitecnico di Torino and completed his MBA at Collége des Ingénieurs in 2017. He started his career at ABB, carrying out and signing more than 70 projects worldwide. Fascinated by new technologies, he dealt with big multinational companies bringing new innovation strategies and resolving intriguing situations between startups and multi-billiononaire corporates. He is currently working as Global Business Development Manager for Electronics & Semiconductor at Siemens Digital Industries Software.\n
