Join this webinar to learn about NIST’s newly updated guidelines on DNS. This new version of the guidelines introduces two important new features of the Domain Name System (DNS), Encrypted DNS and Protective DNS, and refreshes many other areas. The guidelines apply to organizations including both government agencies and businesses. Originally published in 2006, the NIST guidelines have provided legions of administrators and implementers with invaluable recommendations and best practices. But in the almost 20 years since the latest version of the guidelines, the DNS community has introduced significant new functionality, particularly Encrypted DNS and Protective DNS. Key updates in the revised version include: - Best practices for deploying Encrypted DNS to secure communications between stub resolvers (DNS clients) and recursive DNS servers. - Best practices for deploying Protective DNS to help secure internet worked devices from a wide variety of threats, including phishing, malware, and more. - Best practices for securely configuring DNS software like BIND and NSD. - Guidelines for managing "split-zone" configurations, which involve separating DNS control across multiple servers or environments. These updates ensure that DNS is protected against security threats by using current, recommended security standards.
